Rosshan Andrews is the director of the 2025 Indian Hindi-language action movie Deva, which is also produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the Roy Kapur Films banner. Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati are the film’s main actors. With an altered ending, it is a replica of Andrews’s own 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police.[5] The film follows a violent cop who undergoes a personality change after losing his memory in an accident and has to reinvestigate the murder of a fellow police officer. In May 2023, the movie was formally announced. In Mumbai, principal photography started in October 2023 and was completed by September 2024. Vishal Mishra composed two of the songs, while Jakes Bejoy composed the film’s score and two of the songs. Amit Roy and A. Sreekar Prasad were in charge of the editing and cinematography, respectively. When Deva debuted in theaters on January 31, 2025, critics gave it mixed reviews, praising Kapoor’s acting as well as the film’s editing and cinematography but criticizing the narrative and climax.[6][7] It did not do well at the box office.[8]
